Outside Line

Description

Outside line is an interactive audio installation. It deals with the concepts of place and interconnectivity though the medium of soundscape using a telephone interface. The work comprises of a telephone which rings when a viewer is in close proximity to the work. If the viewer (now listener) picks the phone up they will be invited to connect to different places, both real and imagined. By dialling in to their chosen place the listener will be invited experience the outside space through soundscape.

Outside Line 

Telephony is the most interconnected and ubiquitous piece of technology man has created. The phone allows us to connect to anywhere in the world. We can now access this world with the Outside Line.

Outside Line was exhibited as part of Passing Though at the James Taylor Gallery, Hackney. An exhibition of Interactive Art and Sculpture curated by captincaptin.
